Each month Legalize Trans* spotlight an individual, group, or organization doing or being—something remarkable. Spotlight recipients are featured on our website, promoted on our Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr, and receive a free Legalize Trans* shirt. If they’re raising money, we’ll try to contribute something and invite you to join us too! This month’s spotlight is The Lost Bois! the lost bois are revolutionizing the queer music scene with a mission to make wacky and silly music for the most serious of strugglers. At the age of 12, two lost bois met and, in friendship found musical solidarity. In their teens, A.O. and B.Steady shared the stage as vocalists in their high school jazz band, falling in love with the nuances of the jazz standard. Through college, the bois independently fostered their passions for music and founded The Q Crew, an all-female queer rap trio. Upon their return to DC in the summer of 2009, A.O. and B.Steady reunited with a fierce determination to challenge the sexist, racist and homophobic hot mess that is mainstream music, forming the lost bois. the lost bois have appeared at Black Pride celebrations across the United States, performed at Colleges and Universities, and have been featured in publications including Colorlines, Sass Magazine and After Ellen. Chip-in to help the Lost Bois record their first album! Capital City folks! The Lost Bois will be performing at 11:30 am this Sunday on the main stage at Capital Pride!!
